Charlotte Cardin doesn't shy away from love's messier, stickier aspects - the problem areas in between desire and mutual respect are her favorite musical places to dwell. In a new live rendition of “Main Girl”, performed at Brooklyn’s National Sawdust arts center, the song’s conflicted intimacy feels even more vivid, as Charlotte’s three-piece band strips back the studio layers to reveal the nightclub chanteuse anthem it was always threatening to be. Hovering above the electric piano, Charlotte teases out every conflicted emotion in the track, making a twisted romance sound as epic as it is devastating. Watch the video above.
