Pharrell Williams and Girls Trip writer Tracy Oliver are creating a horror film

The book adaptation is going to be a “music-themed horror thriller.”

Pharrell Williams and Girls Trip writer Tracy Oliver are working together to create a film adaptation of the young adult book Survive the Night, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The film will is going to be a “music-themed horror thriller” based of the book by Danielle Vega. Oliver will be writing and directing the film, while Williams will produce the package picked up by Warner Bros.

Survive the Night follows a group of four friends who get trapped inside a warehouse during a music festival on Halloween. The girls try to survive while being hunted down by a mysterious attacker.

Oliver previously directed Jhene Aiko’s short film for her project Trip, and worked on the wildly successful summer smash Girls Trip, which made over $115 million in the US. Williams produced for Hidden Figures and Dope. The two previously linked up to work on Awkward Black Girl, created by Issa Rae.
