Kendrick Lamar has released a COLLECTORS EDITION of his 2017 album DAMN.. The Compton rapper earned seven Grammy nominations for the original version of the album, which came out in April. The latest version comes with new artwork and all 14 tracks in reverse order. It starts with "DUCKWORTH" as its opener and concludes with "BLOOD."
In August, Kendrick confirmed that the album was meant to be listened to in reverse order, after fans had speculated that the twist was intentional.
“I think like a week after the album came out, [fans] realized you can play the album backwards,” he told MTV News several months after the album's initial release. “It plays as a full story and even a better rhythm. It’s one of my favorite rhythms and tempos within the album. It’s something that we definitely premeditate while we’re in the studio.”
