Presale tickets for Black Panther now exceed the amount sold for Captain America: Civil War, giving Ryan Coogler's upcoming superhero epic the crown for most presale tickets sold for any Marvel movie. Tickets for the film went onsale Monday.
While it's unlikely that Black Panther will become the top-grossing Marvel movie ever – that's still The Avengers – the presale numbers for Black Panther could indicate a strong opening weekend at the box office. Deadline's estimates put the film anywhere between the best February weekend box office of all time to a decent $80 million.
Black Panther is in theaters February 16, 2018. Kendrick Lamar and his label Top Dawg Entertainment will produce the soundtrack, which will feature a new song from Lamar and SZA called "All The Stars," as well as Kendrick/Vince Staples collab. Watch a new trailer for the film here.
