VÉRITÉ — who is at least half responsible for one of the year's best pop songs — returns today with a remix for her song "Bout You," featuring New Orleans rapper Pell. The moody song is all the better and more complicated with the rapper's verse about makeup sex.
In an email to The FADER, VÉRITÉ explained what it's been like since dropping her album Somewhere in Between in 2017. "It's an interesting process making an album and living with it," she said. "‘Bout You’ has been one of my favorite songs to reinterpret live. Collaborating with Pell and adding him to the DNA of the track seemed obvious to me. Pell adds an infectious energy to everything he does and I really left him to contribute whatever he felt. I wanted his really distinct point of view to balance mine and I love the result."
