I love women who yell.

The FADER's weekly column What Rules highlights one of our office's new obsessions.

Who are they?

Name: Dream Wife, a.k.a. Rakel Mjöll (lead vocals), Alice Go (guitar, vocals), Bella Podpadec (bass, vocals)
Role: It's not pop punk, but this trio makes poppy punk music that puts me the mood to dance around my bedroom and maybe fight a guy who cuts in line at the bar.
Location: London, U.K.

Why should I listen?

This one goes out to all the kids who got really into Kathleen Hanna in high school and tried to learn all the choreography from the "Deceptacon" music video. This London-based trio met in art school in Brighton and started Dream Wife as a "fake girl band" for an art exhibition. Listen, I know that sounds cheeky, but who among us hasn't taken a joke so far that it becomes a part of our own personalities. These women just so happen to be making a living off of it.

Dream Wife just released their self-titled debut album at the end of January and if you, like me, enjoy screaming about having crushes that maybe won't work out, you should give it a listen. Songs like "Taste" (about making out) and "Let's Make Out" (also about making out) are energetic anthems that probably sound their best at someone's sweaty, basement house show. Album closer "F.U.U." is a loud song wherein the band promises to both fuck and cut someone up. What more do you want?
