Mary J. Blige “Mighty River” streams increased over 300 per cent after the Oscars

Best Song nominees Sufjan Stevens and Miguel enjoyed a raise too.

Mary J. Blige and Sufjan Stevens were among the artists who benefited from the exposure a performance during the Oscars can bring. Billboard reports that streams of Blige's “Mighty River” (from Mudbound) increased by 321 percent after the ceremony, where it was up for the Best Original Song award.

Fellow Best Song nominee Sufjan Stevens saw his song "Mystery Of Love" gain 129,000 plays after the ceremony, an increase of 60 percent on the day before. Stevens played his Call Me By Your Name song at the ceremony alongside St. Vincent and Moses Sumney.

Best Song winner “Remember Me,” from Coco, was boosted by 18 percent following Sunday night's ceremony. The song appears in multiple forms throughout the Pixar movie and was performed on the night by Gael Garcia Bernal plus Miguel and Natalia Lafourcade.

Mary J. Blige was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Mudbound at the 2018 event. She lost out to Alison Janney for her role in I, Tonya.
