Gucci Mane offers Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan $1 million for a new mixtape

He wants a Rich Gang reunion as much as you do.

Gucci Mane has offered Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug $1 million to record a 12-song mixtape together. Quan and Thug began collaborating on songs in 2014, and subsequently joined Birdman's Rich Gang collective. After a run that included the hit song "Lifestyle," the duo split acrimoniously in 2015 and reconciled in 2017.

Writing on Twitter, Gucci even appeared willing to donate studio time for the project. "I got a million cash for @RichHomieQuan and @YoungThug to do one mixtape at the brand new #PolarBearStudios #NoCap 12songs from stratch [sic] #NoCap brrr!!!" It's unclear if "Polar Bear Studios" is a personal recording studio owned by Gucci, a new joint venture, or just a gag. The FADER has reached out for clarification.

In a May 2017 interview with The FADER, Rich Homie Quan said he was open to more music with Young Thug. "Whenever he wants to press play, I want to press play," he said. "I wish him the best and he wish the same for me." But if a collaboration does come about, we may have to wait: Young Thug has said he won't release any new music in 2018 in a show of solidarity with a deaf friend (he has appeared as a featured artist on tracks by Young Scooter and A-Trak, though).

Quan released his album Rich As In Spirit in March.
