"It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii," publicist Diana Baron wrote. "He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given."

One of the biggest names attached to the EDM wave, Avicii released two studio albums, 2013's True and Stories in 2015, and enjoyed commercial success with songs like "Levels," "Wake Me Up," and "I Could Be the One." Avicii retired from touring in August 2016 citing health concerns. He recently announced that he'd begun work on new music.
