6 dogs is the new hook god

His songs have some of my favorite hooks right now: on “OK,” “Off the Gas,” “Faygo Dreams,” and more.

6 dogs is a young guy from outside Atlanta, raised in a Christian household and turned into a perfectly monotone-melodied rapper. He sounds like a cross between 21 Savage and Lil Yachty, looks like Johnny Depp in Fantastic Beasts except it's really humid, and has a deal with Benny Blanco’s Mad Love label, a subsidiary of Interscope. No offense to his verses but I've been rapid-fire clicking through the first 40 seconds of his tracks all morning, I just keep going back back back back.

Love how his songs sound, and he's always saying something silly. Here are my 5 favorite hooks:

“I don't know where I go / But it's OK”
“When I'm off the gas I can see things / New things, old things, dead things”
“Eyes wide open / Drowning, I'm choking / Worry 'bout a buttcheek”

“Cream soda Faygo, damn I'm still dreamin' / They hate on me, I don't know the reason”
“You said you loved me, no you did not / Chanel in my ears now, can't hear you talk (shut up)”
