In the Bible, God floods the world, destroying all of humanity except Noah and his family, whom he traps on an arc filled with every animal while all their friends perish. After the storm is over, God sends a dove, since there are no more people, directly to Noah's boat, bearing a single olive branch. This is God's way of telling Noah that the storm had passed, and the water would recede. God had decided that the hard times were over.
On Tuesday, Katy Perry basically did the same thing. Perhaps inspired by the divinity she experienced at the Met Gala the night before, the pop star sent, presumably via messenger instead of dove, a literal olive branch to Swift, who opens her Reputation tour tonight. Swift posted a video of the delivery, seen above, where she tells her followers that it "means so much to [her]."
