Over the weekend, a number of women publicly spoke about mental and emotional abuse they experienced from BROCKHAMPTON's Ameer Vann, Pitchfork reports. On Twitter, singer-songwriter Rhett Rowan shared a thread that began "I dated him and can confirm that Ameer Vann of Brockhampton is emotional manipulative and mentally abusive." According to Rowan, Vann "outed & glamourized my eating disorder," and acted in a controlling manner. She also tweeted that she "can confirm he was having sex with a minor before he dated me in 2015."

Rowan tweeted the revelations in response to tweets from user @GIGINOTHADID, who wrote on May 11 "not only is he [Vann] a predator and cheater.. he also degrades women, makes forceful advances and does not ease up when asked, is emotionally abusive, uses girl, v manipulative, has sex with underage/legal fans." In a private message, she told The FADER her tweets were in reference to her friend's experience, whose screenshots">DM explaining the situation she shared a screenshot of.

Vann responded to accusations in his own series of tweets, saying "I've been in relationships where I've fucked up and disrespected my partners." But he also denies the claims of sexual misconduct, writing "In response to the claims of emotional and sexual abuse: although my behavior has been selfish, childish, and unkind, I have never criminally harmed anyone or disrespected their boundaries. I have never had relations with a minor or violated anybody's consent."
