One day after the Grenfell fire, Adele visited the scene and spoke to victims as well as the fire fighters that helped battle the blaze. She spoke about the U.K. government's lacklustre treatment of those affected by what happened while performing a London concert last summer, describing the situation as a "fucking mess."

Similarly, Stormzy has been critical of Prime Minister Theresa May and called her out directly during his performance at this year's Brit Awards.

On the one year anniversary fewer than half of the 256 people who lived in the tower have been moved into permanent housing. The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, where Grnfell Tower is located, report that 42 households are still living in hotels.
