In a visit to Matt Wilkinson's Beats 1 radio show on Tuesday, Idris Elba said that a musical collaboration with A$AP Rocky isn't that far-fetched of an idea. Elba — who dropped by to speak about his directorial debut film Yardie — shared that he and A$AP have met multiple times, and have made plans to work together in the future on both an acting and a music front.

"I love A$AP, he’s a good soul. And every time we meet each other we’re like, ‘let’s work,’" Elba said. "Not necessarily music - he wants to act, he does act, I want to do music. So we just collaborate and we nearly made it happen… it hasn’t happened. Skepta is a good friend also, and they connect. So we’re just in a circle where there’s a possibility."

Speaking on Yardie, Elba touched on his first run as a director, his roots in East London, and the film's sound track — which features music from Skip Marley.
