Krimewatch’s new double video is three minutes of pick-me-up mayhem

“If you see your homie on the ground, pick them up!”

Krimewatch is a hardcore punk band formed in Brooklyn, New York. Their double video for "Crybaby" and "Dreams of Peace," off their 7” and full-length releases respectively, is a frenzied multi-camera display of the band's live energy. It was filmed by a bunch of friends on camcorder and hi-8 during their last trip to the West Coast, primarily at a packed show in Los Angeles, and directed and edited by Los Angeles-based director Sakura Bready. The two tracks roar by, and the whole affair is over in just over three minutes. The neon art featured in the video, made by band member Emma Hendry, sets a red glow over the sweaty audience, creating a sense of intimacy rather than danger, as lead singer Rhylli reminds folks to pick up fallen friends and strangers at the start of the set.

Hendry started the band with drummer Shayne shortly after moving to New York from Boston a few years ago. They soon enlisted guitarist Sean and Emma’s friend Rhylli to form the group. They’ve been on the loose ever since, releasing their first self-titled LP on Lockin’ Out Records earlier this summer. Watch the video above, and check out more from the band on their Bandcamp page.
