Zoë Kravitz recreated her mom Lisa Bonet’s naked Rolling Stone pic for The Hot Issue
“When I think of ’Rolling Stone,’ that’s always the image that pops into my head.”
While everyone is dressing up and channeling their pop culture favorites for Halloween, Zoë Kravitz is stripping down and channeling her mom.
Rolling Stone shared the cover of The Hot Issue 2018 on their social media and the cover features Kravitz posing naked and channeling her mom from the 1988 issue that was released 30 years ago. Lisa Bonet appeared on the cover wearing a giant t-shirt, but Kravitz's cover channels her mom's nude photo from inside the issue.
“I’ve always loved that cover so much,” she says. “When I think of Rolling Stone, that’s always the image that pops into my head. It’s a really striking image of her. It’s beautiful.”
According to the publication, "Bonet told [Kravitz] she actually wanted the photo on her cover to be one from inside the issue — the same pose, only without the shirt."
“It’s less about the picture, and more about doing the thing my mom intended to do. That feels cool," she added.
Bonet was two months pregnant with Kravitz in the issue.
