Aside from the film's poster, which was revealed a few weeks ago, Peele has remained tight-lipped about what the mysterious film will be about. Through the newly-released clip, it is revealed that the film will center on a family who is haunted by doppelgänger versions of themselves.

During a screening of the trailer at Universal, the Oscar-winning director told The Hollywood Reporter that it was "very important" for him to "have a black family at the center of a horror film." He also added that, "unlike Get Out, Us is not about race. It is instead about something that I feel has become an undeniable truth. And that is the simple fact that we are our own worst enemies."
