With her debut album finally on the horizon, it feels as though Kelsey Lu is primed for a major year. To kick things off, she's offered a cover of 10cc's "I'm Not In Love." Lu's take on the seventies radio standard dusts off its age-old hook into something meditative, oscillating between ambient and familiar. She also shot a gorgeous clip for the track with Alima Lee, which can be watched above. No word on whether it'll appear on LP1, but here's hoping.
Oh, and while we're on the topic of Lu covering legendary seventies rock, how the hell did we miss the fact that she uploaded a take on Joni Mitchell's "River" on Christmas Eve? Her version is crystalline and reflective, with some gorgeous backing vocals from Sampha. Never mind that it's a bit late for pseudo holiday music and bump that below via Lu's SoundCloud.
