"Police Myself" arrives days after OME shared "Unfiltered" with Danny Brown. Both tracks are part of a series of music videos that will appear at the end of each The New Negroes episode.

In a statement, Open Mike said the "Police Myself" video is inspired by criminality and the duality of the mind. "The theme of the episode is criminality and we made a song and video outlining the idea of 'double consciousness' where one has to be aware of their own internal experience but also aware of how others perceive them," he said. "For black Americans and other marginalized people around the world that perception can be the difference between life and death."
