The respective rises of Omar Apollo and Dominic Fike have been good for fans of rebel spirit pop music. The 22-year-old Apollo remains a heavily streamed indie powerhouse after the EPs Stereo and Friends, while Fike's EP Don't Forget About Me, Demos landed him a contract at Columbia in the $4 million range. A collaboration from the two artists might have a thread of inevitability to it, but their new song "Hit Me Up," produced by Kenny Beats, is still worth listening to. Fans of high-res, Anderson .Paak-adjacent funk will find a lot to dig through here. Listen for yourself below.
