Taylor Swift has released a new remix for the title track from her latest album, Lover. Calling it a remix is a stretch, actually — instrumentally, the two tracks sound almost identical. But this version features additional vocals from Canadian heartthrob Shawn Mendes. Swift and Mendes have been friends for.minute, but this is their first recorded collaboration.
Last year, Mendes appeared as a special guest during one of Swift's Reputation tour stops. After she posted a video applying glitter to his face, Mendes later told Rolling Stone that the footage fueled speculation about his sexuality: “I was like, ‘Fuck, why did I let her post that?’ I just fed the fire that I’m terrified of.” That all appears to be water under the bridge now — stream their "Lover" remix below.
