“Some people may say, ‘oh, I want to switch lives with them.’ Man, you see the gloss, but sometimes we be looking ashy” explains Lena Waithe, star of Netflix’s comedy-drama Master of None, when asked whether she would rather switch lives with anyone for a week or relive one week of her life in The FADER’s latest installment of Would You Rather. Young M.A, seated next to Waithe on the couch, immediately agrees: “Cover of a book: you don’t know what you’re about to read.”

In response to a later question about if they would rather make an album or a TV show together, Waithe says “both!” “And then we can do an album for the TV show” Young M.A adds. As for who could direct the show, Waithe sees Spike Lee as the G.O.A.T. Still, she says, “I don’t know if I’d necessarily want to live with Spike Lee… that might get on my nerves.”

Young M.A’s debut album Herstory in the Making is available now and Lena Waithe’s latest film, Queen & Slim is out November 27 in the United States. Watch the full Would You Rather segment above.
