Purity Ring are back. It's been five whole years since Megan James and Corin Roddick offered their last project (2015's another eternity). In the time since, they've collaborated with the likes of HEALTH, Soccer Mommy, and Katy Perry, but they've also been toiling away on their own material. Today, they're announcing that later this spring, they'll release WOMB, a new album informed by "a quest for comfort and the search for a resting place in a world where so much is beyond our control." The record, which was written, recorded, produced and mixed entirely by James and Roddick, is due out April 4 on 4AD.

Ahead of that, they're sharing the album's beckoning lead single, "stardew." It's a crystalline rush of adrenaline that feels both faithful to the ethos that Purity Ring have cultivated across their first two albums, and exhilarating enough to stand apart as a mission of its own. Hear it below, and peep Purity Ring's newly announced tour itinerary in support of WOMB.
