Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance shares new song “Here Comes The End”

The track was released to commemorate the second season of Way’s Netflix show The Umbrella Academy.

These days life can feel like a runaway train, and Gerard Way, frontman of the recently reunited My Chemical Romance, has delivered a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of a new solo song called "Here Comes The End." The glam-rock track, which features Judith Hill on co-vocalist duty, doesn't present a wholly optimistic or pessimistic view of things — maybe that light in the tunnel is daylight, or a cliff — and that's why it works. "Here Comes The End" was written for season two of Way's Netflix superhero show The Umbrella Academy. Way said he began writing the song before the string of crises that have come to define 2020. "I was originally inspired to write this track when series one of Umbrella Academy was being shot. By the time I finished it 2020 was in full swing, the world had taken a profound turn and the song was finished in a surreal new reality.”

Season two of The Umbrella Academy premieres on July 31. Last year, My Chemical Romance reunited for the band's first show in seven years. A subsequent world tour was rescheduled to 2021.
