Charli XCX, Stormzy, and Dua Lipa are nominated for the 2020 Mercury Prize

Kano and Georgia are also on the 12-album shortlist for this year’s award.

The list of nominees for the 2020 Mercury Prize has been revealed with Charli XCX, Stormzy, Dua Lipa, and Laura Marling all featuring on this year's list. The annual prize rewards one outstanding British album. Last year's prize was won by Dave for his debut album, Psychodrama.

Other nominated albums on this year's list include efforts from indie bands Porridge Radio and Sports Team plus Kano, Anna Meredith, Georgia, Michael Kiwanuka, Moses Boyd, and Lanterns on the Lake.

The overall winner of the 2020 Mercury Prize will be announced on September 24. The winner is decided by the judging panel on the day of the ceremony.

Albums by British and Irish artists with a U.K. release date between July 20, 2019 and July 17, 2020 are eligible for this year's prize.
