Beyoncé drops new visual album Black Is King

Beyoncé drops new visual album <i>Black Is King</i> Disney+

Beyoncé's visual album Black Is King is now streaming on Disney+. Based on her 2019 project The Lion King: The Gift, Black Is King is a feature-length visual accompaniment written, directed, and executive produced by Beyoncé. It features appearances from Jay-Z, Kelly Rowland, and Lupita Nyong’o among others. Other directors credited include Emmanuel Adjei, Blitz Bazawule, Pierre Debusschere, Ibra Ake, Dikayl Rimmasch, Jake Nava, and Kwasi Fordjour.

A press release states that Black Is King “reimagines the lessons of The Lion King for today’s young kings and queens in search of their own crowns." Filming locations include New York, Los Angeles, South Africa, West Africa, London, and Belgium.

In addition to Black Is King, Beyoncé has also shared a video for "Already." The song was recorded with Major Lazer and Shatta Wale and first appeared on The Lion King: The Gift, the companion album Bey made for Disney's 2019 CGI remake. Check that out below.

Earlier this summer Beyoncé released new song "BLACK PARADE." The song arrived on Juneteenth (June 19) and is now included on a deluxe edition of The Lion King: The Gift, streaming from today. Other new additions to the album include a Melo-x remix of “Find Your Way Back.”
