Big Sean has confirmed details of his new album. Detroit 2 is set for release on September 4 via G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam Recordings and is trailed by new song "Deep Reverence" featuring the late Nipsey Hussle. Listen to that below.

On "Deep Reverence" Big Sean talks about how Nipsey Hussle's death last year led him to contact Kendrick Lamar, who famously took aim at him and many other rappers on 2013 single "Control." “After what happened to Nipsey I reached out to Kendrick/There wasn't even no real issues there to begin with," Sean raps on the new song. "Lack of communication and wrong information from people fueled by the ego it’s like mixing flames with diesel.”

Detroit 2 is billed as the sequel to 2012 mixtape Detroit. His last solo studio album, I Decided, was released in 2017. Later that year he and Metro Boomin dropped their joint project Double or Nothing.
