A new biopic series based on the life of Tejano icon Selena Quintanilla is coming to Netflix this December.

The life story of Tejano icon Selena Quintanilla, known mononymously as Selena, has been made into a new Netflix series titled Selena: The Series, featuring Walking Dead actress Christian Serratos as the iconic singer. Set to drop on December 4, Netflix has today released a trailer for the show, which also features Ricardo Chavira as Selena’s father, Abraham Quintanilla, and Noemi Gozalez as her sister Suzette Quintanilla. Covering the singer’s entire life from her childhood to her 1995 murder, the show is endorsed by Selena’s family.

Selena: The Series follows a 1997 film about Selena’s life titled Selena and starring Jennifer Lopez. Also produced by the Quintanilla family, Selena was a modest critical success and was nominated for a Grammy and a Golden Globe. Watch the trailer for Selena: The Series above.
