Florist, the New York folk band led by Emily Sprague, will return this year with a new self-titled album this year. Florist is out on July 29, and it's the first Florist album with the group's original members since 2017's If Blue Could Be Happiness (Emily Alone, released in 2019, was written by Emily Sprague solo and released under the Florist moniker). “Red Bird Pt. 2 (Morning)” is the lead single from Florist, out today; it's a glittering, lovely track with acoustic guitar notes sparkling like dew in the cobwebs of Sprague's reverie.

“This song is the introduction to Florist," Sprague says in a press release, "an album journey very much about the celebration of the people in our lives and the massive importance of connection. It is lyrically and spiritually a continuation of where Florist left off 5 years ago at the end of If Blue Could Be Happiness. We recorded the song to 1/2” tape on a screened-in porch in June. The nature sounds are live. The birds really sang along.”
