The new visual treatment for “A House In Nebraska” sets the slow-burning saga in surprising scenery, considering its subject matter. As Cain’s drama unfolds in the song’s eponymous structure (a rustic, solitary home in America’s heartland), her physical person stands on a tastefully lit, minimalist stage that would fit more comfortably in a sci-fi flick than a western. Nevertheless, the song’s power isn’t location dependent, and Cain’s performance is so incredibly convincing it would work just about anywhere.
