Prior to the charges being made public, slowthai was due to perform at Glastonbury in June and Reading & Leeds in August. As of Wednesday morning, his name is no longer on the line-up poster for either festival when accessed on their official websites. The FADER has contacted representatives for both festivals for comment.

slowthai is also due to perform at a number of additional festivals across the U.K. and Europe this summer, including a support slot at Britpop band Blur’s reunion show in London. It remains unclear whether or not he has been dropped from these events.

On Tuesday, slowthai, real name Tyron Frampton, appeared virtually before magistrates in Oxfordshire, England for a preliminary hearing, speaking only to confirm his name, date of birth, and address. He was charged with oral and vaginal penetration of a woman without her consent in 2021 in Oxford and will appear in Oxford crown court next month. Shortly after the court appearance, Frampton posted a message on Instagram denying all of the allegations.
