It's always exciting to hear a DJ play a track out and learn that it's a product of New York City's relentless underground dance music scene. When QRTR played Celebrity Bitcrush's bootleg of Chelley's 2009 "Took The Night" during a set, I knew it would be on repeat all summer.

Inspired by Chicago footwork and Detroit ghettotech, the Brooklyn producer flips the vintage club hit on its head. "Walk In The Club" boasts unpredictable feverish drum patterns and insistent vocal samples, turning the girl power anthem into a gritty warehouse party track.

"I wanted to make a fast and high-energy track that straddled the line between club tune and rave tune," Celebrity Bitcrush tells The FADER. "I thought the addition of the vocal sample juxtaposed with the high tempo and pounding bass gave the impression of posh socialite going to a dirty warehouse."
