Ed Banger Records producer SebastiAn has shared a new single with The xx’s Oliver Sim. "TWIN" is one of seventeen songs that SebastiAn wrote for Eduardo Salier’s film Tropic, which follows twin astronauts as one becomes contaminated with mysterious space residue. The song is a transfixing piece of atmospheric pop, and Sim’s voice sounds right at home amid the echoing guitars, like a sense memory of his own band’s debut album.
According to a press release, Salier and SebastiAn “immediately agreed on cinematographic references and musical tastes, giving easy access to the intentions and musical direction [they] were going to give to the film.”
Sim adds, “My love for film has always felt closely linked to my love of music. Whenever I start a song I usually have a fictional movie playing in my head that I’m trying to soundtrack.”
