Filth is Eternal‘s songs usually have the length of your average street fight and the tenor of some existential battle: tracks will rarely exceed two minutes, but the Seattle band bottle in them a rage that’s potent, generational, and utterly contemporary. Across two albums (one under the moniker Fucked and Bound before a 2021 name change), Filth Is Eternal gave grunge a hardcore makeover for hellions everywhere. Their third project, Find Out, dropping September 29 via MNRK Heavy, seems poised to continue that glorious tradition.
The band’s killer new song “Pressure Me” premieres today on The FADER alongside a performance video colored by neon fluorescent bulbs. “Growth and change can be uncomfortable, even painful, at times,” frontperson Lis Di Angelo says in a statement. “We’re afraid of sharing our misery with others, but allowing others in can help us gain perspective to see our current situation in a new light. ‘Pressure Me’ is a roadmap of nonlinear progress. It’s an acknowledgment that sometimes, whether we want to admit it or not, we need the pressure of honest discourse, especially if we mean to figure out the world we’ve built and discover the root of our problems.”
