DJ Sabrina The Teenage DJ, an artist based out of London, has pretty much kept plunderphonics hip all by herself. Since 2017, DJ Sabrina has released a stream of addictive, house-inspired projects that refuse to lean on nostalgia as they create a warm and welcoming atmosphere from a collage of samples. Her penchant for pop catharsis is apparent with even a casual listen, so it's little surprise that she's chosen to cover a song by the legend Kylie Minogue. Co-written by the pop production powerhouse trio Stock Aitken Waterman, "It's No Secret" was one of Minogue's first hits, appearing on her 1988 debut Kylie. DJ Sabrina turns down the gloss and the snappy rhythms on her "slo-fi house" version, a shrewd choice that highlights the songwriting pedigree.

What's your first memory of this song?

I've loved Kylie and Stock Aitken Waterman since I was a kid, I've always loved their music as long as I can remember!

Why did you decide to record it as your cover?

It's so perfectly written, such a flawless structure and arrangement and I felt it would work in a slo-fi house style.

What does this song/band mean to you personally?

S.A.W. songs are the perfect combination of pop music and dance production, they never ease up on either element, it's always full-on pop melody and arrangement and full-on HI-NRG beats and bass, probably the biggest inspiration for me.

What's another song you'd love to cover and why?

I love Kylie's *other* secret song, "Secrets!"
