Nicki Minaj is urging her fans to refrain from harassing people online.

On Sunday, November 5, the rapper took to her Instagram Story to warn the Barbz against harassing or threatening others in her so-called defense.

“Dear Barbz, be sure to never threaten anyone on my behalf. Whether on the internet or in person. Whether in jest or not,” she wrote in a text post. “I don’t [and] never have condoned that.”

Instead, Minaj said they should be focusing on the upcoming release of her new album, Pink Friday 2, pointing out that she has “an amazing album right around the corner, Dec. 8.”

“It feels so surreal [and] euphoric,” she concluded. “Wishing you blessings on blessings.”

It’s unclear what exactly prompted Minaj’s message. However, her ardent fanbase is known to be extremely protective, even going so far as to allegedly doxx YouTuber Kimberly Nicole Foster in 2022, resulting in a lawsuit. According to Vibe, there also appeared to be some online dispute about Pink Friday 2’s delay, which Minaj herself responded to by threatening to quit X, formerly known as Twitter.

The FADER has reached out to Minaj’s representatives for further comment.
