Today (November 9) is officially Wu-Tang Clan Day in New York. The news was announced on Wednesday by Mayor Eric Adams and coincides with the 30th anniversary of the group's seminal 1993 album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).
Among the festivities on Wu-Tang Day will be a special lighting of the Empire State Building in Wu-Tang’s black and yellow colors. Legacy Recordings, meanwhile, will release a 7″ box set that includes Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) on vinyl, a 60-page book of liner notes, and a pack of 36 Chambers-themed trading cards.

On November 15 the Lincoln Center’s Walter Reade Theater will host a screening of A Wu-Tang Experience: Live at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The documentary focuses on a 2021 concert in which Wu-Tang members performed with the 60-piece Colorado Symphony Orchestra to create a live score to the 1978 martial arts film The 36th Chamber of Shaolin.
Wu-Tang Clan recently finished a co-headlining tour with Nas. The second annual “N.Y. State of Mind Tour" hit 32 cities in three continents over the course of more than five months.
