NTS announces new baile funk compilation funk.BR - Sao Paulo
Due out March 29, the project will feature 22 previously unreleased tracks from producers across the city, three of which are out now.

NTS has announced a 22-track compilation of baile funk from São Paulo, Brazil, the city with the largest population in the Americas. Focusing on mandelão, an aggressive phonk encapsulating the sinister bruxaria subsect, the project features two of the exploding scene’s most established acts — DJ Arana and DJ Blakes — alongside rising stars such as DJ Dayeh, DJ K, DJ Lorrany, DJ P7, and Bonekinha Iraquiana, as well as genre-agnostic super-producers like Mu540, Deekapz, and DJ Tonias (aka Maffalda).
Along with today’s announcement, NTS has shared three tracks from the album as singles: “Montagem Phonk Brasileiro” by DJ Arana, “As Mais Top” by DJ Dayeh and MC Bibi Drak, and “Automotivo Destruidor, P7 Vai Te Destruir” by DJ P7 and MC PR. The songs all sound totally different, but they’re united by a penchant for massive bass and treble blowouts made even more menacing by the sing-song dissonance of the vocals.
