Lady Gaga has shared "Abracadabra," the third single from her upcoming seventh studio album Mayhem, along with its music video. Directed by Lady Gaga, Parris Goebel, and Bethany Vargas, the clip depicts "light" and "dark" versions of Gaga who face off in a battle of the houses, ballroom-style with a bit of Guadagnino's Susperia mixed in.
In a previously released press statement, Gaga said Mayhem "started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved.” Indeed, if her 2024 Joker: Folie à Deux tie-in album Harlequin made you pine for the days of The Fame Monster and Born This Way, you'll likely find a lot to love in "Abracadabra," an anthemic electro-pop song with a deliciously evil-sounding hook and ear-tickling acid house elements.
