We've now seen Conor Oberst and his band of rambling roses twice in a week– once in New York City, once in Los Angeles (with the also excellent and underrated Vetiver)– and we're proud to announce that Conor is evolving into one helluva country sanger. Whether new jams or old, there's a hard, driving Nashville lean to this tour's set that reminds us of a certain band of Canadians, although when Conor's occasional vocal outbursts erupt for one word or one phrase in the middle of a song, it makes us want to dig out LIFTED again. The shows also made us kinda pine for Bright Eyes to delve fully into country and get us excited about wearing rhinestoned suits and cowboy boots and drinking warm whiskey to celebrate our most recent firing/breakup. Mostly though, it just got us more fired up for the soon-coming album Cassadaga and the epic Spring US tour that will bring Conor to LA's Walt Disney Concert Hall, a seven-night stand at Town Hall in NYC and all points in between, the full dates for which you can see after the jump, along with some free jams from Cassadaga and the recent Bright Eyes EP Four Winds courtesy Saddle Creek.
