We put Machel Montano on the cover of Issue 43, told you to check his shows in NYC, even gave you a tip on his surprise performance the day before the shows. But we also know that, no matter how hard some of you tried, it was nearly impossible to get anywhere near Machel while he was here, so we sent an emissary to the early show at MSG Theater and she came back with video and photos that honestly blew our minds. Special guests ranged from Patrice Roberts to Shaggy to David Rudder to Doug E. Fresh and some of the most amazing stage characters (Tan Tan and Saga Boy!) we've ever seen designed by master Carnival costumer Peter Minshall. Not only that, but as you'll see in the video, the audience looks like churning sea of good vibes.
