At some point last year - it might have been while playing tambourine on the Amy Winehouse album, or buying socks with Lupe in Bahrain or something - ?uestlove of the Roots mentioned that he would be remaking Pharell's In My Mind album in its entirety. While it would be physically impossible to keep tabs on the litany of projects ?uesto offhandedly blogs about over the course of any given month, we have to admit this particular project intrigued us, mostly because Pharrell's overhyped, overdelayed, and ultimately disappointing solo album still had glimmers of potential genius blinking throughout like oh-so many BBC logo rhinestones. Could the Blackberrying drummer lead us to the promised land?!? The jury's still out, but this new version of In My Mind single "Number One" (credited to "Pharrell and the Yessirs" and currently playing on ?uestlove's MySpace page) is pretty damn fun.
