Last night we had the pleasure of witnessing chapters 13-22 of R. Kelly's EPIC Trapped in the Closet series at IFC Theater. We're going to be honest here: Basically nothing happened and the story progressed approximately nowhere but Kellz sang in an Italian accent, dressed up as like 75,000 different characters and has pretty much crafted a real-time opera where he is describing events as they happen. The real highlight though, was the appearance of Robert Kelly himself, who let loose the information that he has 51 and a half more parts done and is just waiting to film them and that the song is not a song but an alien and it just keeps rhyming and rhyming and he doesn't know how he does it. Also did we mention that up-and-coming Most Unlikely Rap Video Star Ever (MURVSE) Will Oldham makes a brief appearance as a cop named Sergeant Platoon? After his speech, Kelly, who is clearly not even close to bored by his own masterpiece sat in the back (right behind us!) and watched the whole thing for what we imagine might be the thousandth time.
