Last night we hit up McCarren Pool for an awesome triple threat of Grizzly Bear/Kevin Drew/Feist, and while we love The Grizz and Feist, Drew was the real highlight. Running through jams from his upcoming Spirit If... (Out Sept. 18th!) Drew came off less like the slacker-rock king of lackadaisical fuzz and more like a humble Bono or—we'll just come out and say it—like a young Bruce Springsteen. The night was warm, the guitars were pillowy and the little kids were running in circles, so we could do nothing but smile and rock out to music that makes us wistful for the days when we were 13-year old skater kids trying to figure out the world.
