Picturebox Does More Awesome Stuff
- story THE FADER
Judging from previous blog posts and stories in our very own magazine, FADER and Picturebox are joined in some sort of secret underground cabal where we write about every move the company makes. Not so! In fact, the reality is that we ride for dudes that do awesome shit, and Picturebox consistently does awesome shit. This time around they’re combatting the evil recession by seriously hooking their customers up. This November 2009 and February 2010 respectively the publisher is releasing the third volume of CF’s amazing graphic novel Powr Mastrs, which involves some of the most detailed, thought out world building we’ve witnessed like ever, as well as Brian Chippendale’s SIX HUNDRED AND FIFTY PAGE epic If ‘n Oof, a “sprawling, hilarious tale of two pals wandering through a desolate, hostile landscape.” To sweeten the deal, if you pre-order both books now you’ll get silkscreen prints from both artists. There are also a bunch more deals surrounding these books here and here. SOLD!

NYC: Awesome Dudes Make Art For You To Buy
- story THE FADER
Actually owning works by Raymond Pettibon, Barry McGee, Bjorn Copeland, Brian Chippendale and Hisham Bharoocha is kiiiinnnnda out of the question for us at this point, but that doesn’t mean we won’t enjoy the shit out of this stuff with our eyeballs tonight at Phillips de Pury & Company (450 West 15th St) from 6-8pm. Then on Saturday, while we cry about the lint wads in our pockets, the small to medium ballers among you can feel free to bid on all this stuff and give it to us as gifts. Or keep it, if you’re like that. Full flyer after the jump.
