As New Yorkers, there’s not much that makes us wish we lived somewhere else, there is way too much shit to do as it is. But when Mad Decent dude and mega-bro Paul Devro hit us up to let us know about this Friday’s launch of his weekly Mad Decent Fridays party at 3 Clubs in LA we were more than kinda bummed that we couldn’t be there. This inaugural edition is a celebration of the release of the Major Lazer album (which you may have noticed is on the cover of our new issue), and besides Devro, it features super selectors Oro 11 of Bersa Discos, Sabbo, Erik Devereux and, um, Andy Milonakis live? Mad Decent’s Paul Devro is DJing the next installment of the FADER Soundcheck parties, this Tuesday, May 12th, with our buds at Bardot in LA. Expect much next levelness and potentially some incredible jams from his time in India. If that’s somehow not enough to lure you in, the free drinks are also a pretty good positive. Of course, you could also get free drinks from your parent’s fridge, but we’re pretty sure Paul Devro isn’t soundtracking that experience. PARTY TIME: The Ace Hotel and Levi’s® Present Desert Gold

Attention temporary residents of Palm Desert: In addition to the action-packed long weekend of music at Coachella this year, Levi’s® and the Ace Hotel are hosting a three day offsite (and late night) party featuring our dudes and We Make It Good DJs XXXchange, Paul Devro and Pretty Titty on Friday night, doing an all day thing on Saturday with a listening party for Sonic Youth’s new album and performances by the Cave Singers and Northwest/”SoCal Desert” bands, and concluding the whole shebang on Sunday with more jammy jams with bands from Portland and Joshua Tree.
