Premiere: Mick Boogie f. Big Sean, Black Milk & T3, “Just The Past (nVMe Remix)” MP3

DJ and puveyor of the mixtape mashup Mick Boogie really got our attention last year when he somehow managed to make the dubious concept of a Jay-Z x Coldplay blend sound surprisingly ill on Viva La Hova. Unsurprisingly, well-executed pro bona projects like that one finally got Mick some legit work, and he’s got a brand new total rework of FADER favorite Peter, Bjorn and John’s latest album Living Thing hitting the world wide web next Tuesday, September 8th. The label gave him all the mastered stems from the Swedes’ top notch pop record and Mick threw, like, 400 rappers on there. For this track, he brought together three of Detroit’s hardest working over the originally pretty mellow track. Get two more leaks from the tape here and make sure to pick up PB and J’s album wherever you buy stuff.

FADER TV: Peter Bjorn and John, “Nothing to Worry About” (Live at The Levi’s®/FADER Fort)

Bjorn stopped by The Let Out show at the East Village Radio booth not once but twice on Friday. The first time we knew he was coming and asked him a bunch of stupid questions, the second he just showed up and we asked him a bunch of stupid questions. In between, PB & J did their thing onstage at The Levi’s®/FADER Fort in near total darkness, including their newish song “Nothing to Worry About.” Here it is!

Once upon a time, the greasers of Yoyogi Park ruled Harajaku. Now, as demonstrated in this Peter Bjorn and John video, they are relegated to doing awesome shit up the road.

Freeload: Peter Bjorn & John, “Nothing To Worry About”

If Kanye, who premiered this, is to be believed, this new Peter Bjorn & John song IS DOPE!! DRUMS ARE CRAZY AND I LIKE THE KIDS ON THE HOOK. THERE NEW ALBUM IS CALLED “LIVING THING” ….. WITH ALL THAT SAID I DON’T KNOW THE NAME OF THE SONG… LOL!!!… I’M GONNA ASSUME IT’S CALLED, “NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.” We can’t say much for the kids on the hook, but the drums are pretty crazy. And in combination with the previously video’d “Hey Shut The Fuck Up, Boy”, PB & J’s new album is shaping up to be one of the albums to get all excited about for the spring. As far as Kanye’s assumption on the song title, we can’t confirm, but we can say assuming the other song was called “Hey Shut The Fuck Up, Boy” made an ass out of us and the internet because it is now officially called “Lay It Down” and is available at the band’s website.

Video: Peter Bjorn and John, “Hey Shut The Fuck Up”

Not a lot of people liked or even noticed Peter Bjorn and John’s largely instrumental, entirely unpredictable Seaside Rock album this year, but we have been known to jam on some pickled herring for breakfast while pumping a bunch of songs from it (”Inland Empire”=so crucial for spreading cheese). So it’s not really that big of a surprise that they released a video for a song from their next album, coming in March 2009, on a random Swedish website and it is not only bizarre but also totally unclear if it is a joke or not. Maybe they forgot what English words mean, or maybe they just don’t care: Either way we applaud both the catchiness and absolute ridiculousness of this effort.
