Rodarte, No Age and Todd Cole Confuse the Hell Out of Us
As we watched this video, shot by frequent FADER contributor Todd Cole and scored by FADER cover stars No Age, we felt as though we had reverted into REM sleep and were having one of our very elaborate, profound lucid night-dreams where everyone we know and love is doing something deeply weird. In Aanteni, made to promote our adored Rodarte’s signature fringy, futuristic frocks, it’s the end of the world and a very troubled-looking model is racing across a barren world and an abandoned spaceship hangar. This is pretty much how we spend 92% of our internal lives, but replace the hangar with “rave club” and Rodarte with “shit we can actually afford whilst dreaming we are wearing Rodarte.” We can’t front on them at all for using their funds for such ill artworks, though. Watch it over at Nowness, which is the new jam from Another Magazine/Dazed & Confused impresario Jefferson Hack.

New Rules To Live By And New Rules To Break
- story Alex Frank
Walker Lamond makes a spirited case for order and discipline in his new collection of fashionable aphorisms Rules for My Unborn Son, culled from Walker’s blog of the same name. We’ve spent most of our young adulthood doing the opposite of what people tell us to do, but maybe it’s time to heed a few pointers, or at least have some new rules to enjoy breaking. Our favorite instructions? Lamond’s little odes to mom, like “Make time for your mom on your birthday. It’s her special day, too.” Moms are, of course, always in style. Our only gripe with the book is its insistence on being only for the sons. Can’t daughters learn something from Lamond’s urging to “wear freshly laundered pajamas” and to “own a wool flannel suit”?
