Tauba Auerbach and Cameron Mesirow’s Auerglass

Tauba Auerbach and Cameron Mesirow, better known as Glasser, built a tandem organ because they are best friends. It looks completely insane, a giant wooden organ with white leather air bags and Lucite framing holding train whistle pipes. The piece is part of Auerbach’s show at Deitch in New York, “Here and Now/And Nowhere,” and they play it every day in a public performance of dual unification. They also have interlocking shoes. We spoke with Auerbach and Mesirow about the creation and inner workings of the Auerglass, along with Ida Falck Øien, who designed their dresses.

New York Minute with Dash Snow, Aurel Schmidt, Barry McGee and Others

Unless you are going to Rome to see the New York Minute exhibit, the only chance you’ll have to get this sweet poster set featuring giant works by ten of the Big Apple artists in the show is through O.H.W.O.W., who’ve got a mere 100 copies. We’ve got a soft spot for Aurel Schmidt’s general grossness that you can see above, totally befitting of our love affair with this great city. But the aerospace of Tauba Auerbach’s piece, the straight Baywatch-iness of JD Sampson’s and the sad reminder of Dash Snow’s, are a pretty diverse representation of young New York. Check New York Minute curator Kathy Grayson’s blog for more photos of the posters, including cameos by her bare toes and nice marble countertop.
