If you've been reading the new issue, you know we've been feeling the new Dios (Malos) album. If you've been reading the blog, you know we've been feeling their new video. So we were bram stokered to watch the guys put on a great free show the other night at Amoeba Records in Los Angeles.

And while it was crowded, there was still room enough in the aisles for actual shoppers to actually shop, so as we stood by the Chubby Checker albums sometimes we had to look at this:

When we wanted to look at this.

The show was a going away gig before Dios (Malos) starts a five week tour of United States that starts today in San Francisco and ends on back here at the El Rey. Their set was unsurprisingly heavy on material from the new album, but when they brought out tracks from their debut, they had evolved with extra flourishes - like a guitar solo at the end of "All Is Said And Done" and a science TV show theme keyboard touch for "Starting Five". And you have to appreciate the humor of a band who says goodbye to the city they love by finishing with "Later Skater", a song whose chorus is "I'm going home."
